Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, joined Jim Sciutto on CNN today to discuss his investigation into shocking revelations that the federal government placed migrant children with a human trafficking ring in Ohio.

“People are outraged. They open up their morning paper about 7 months ago in Ohio and saw that a U.S. government agency had actually placed kids with traffickers and with criminals,” Portman stated. “Senator Claire McCaskill and myself took on this investigation – it is bipartisan. It’s also outrageous that this is happening and frankly, Health and Human Services and the Office of Refugee Resettlement have not taken the necessary steps to address this so that it doesn’t continue to happen.”
