Yesterday, Portman introduced Judge Brett Kavanaugh, the president’s nominee to serve on the Supreme Court, at his Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing. 

In introducing Kavanaugh, Portman states in the video: “He is thoughtful and compassionate and someone who has a big heart and the humility to listen. To me that might be the single most important attribute for a member of the Supreme Court. The humility to listen.”

  • On July 17, Portman delivered remarks on the Senate floor urging the Senate to confirm Kavanaugh. 
  • On July 17, Portman released a video highlighting his meeting with Judge Kavanaugh.
  • On July 23, Portman wrote a weekly column for Ohio newspapers titled “Brett Kavanaugh Is The Right Pick For The Supreme Court.”
  • On July 29, Portman appeared on NBC’s Meet The Press to discuss his support for Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination.
  • On August 22, Portman delivered remarks on the Senate floor in support of Kavanaugh’s nomination and defending him against false and unfair attacks.
  • On September 4, Portman introduced Kavanaugh before the Senate Judiciary Committee at his confirmation hearing.
