WOODSFIELD, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) toured American Mud Works, a new facility that produces drilling mud used by oil and gas operators in the region. Portman saw firsthand the job creation and economic growth that has come from American Mud Works’ new facility in Monroe County.

Portman visited with workers on site, learned more about how the new technologies in use in Eastern Ohio are impacting the region’s economy, and discussed his efforts on tax reform and regulatory reform that are helping support Ohio businesses, families, and jobs.

“With American Mud Works’ new facility in Monroe County, Eastern Ohio’s oil and gas industry is continuing to grow. The new facility is going to create 30 to 40 jobs, with more to come. This is a trend we are seeing nationally. Through tax reform and regulatory relief, businesses are expanding their operations and reinvesting in their workers across Ohio and the country. It was great touring this facility today, and I’m excited about the future for Eastern Ohio.”
