February 11, 2011 | Press Releases
TERRACE PARK, OH - U.S. Senator-elect Rob Portman today announced that Rob Lehman, Teri Geiger and Jeff Sadosky will assume the roles of Chief of Staff, State Director, and Communications Director, respectively, when Portman takes office as U.S. Senator in January of 2011.

Rob Lehman formerly served as Chief of Staff for both the Office of Budget and Management (OMB) and the US Trade Representative (USTR), responsible for issues ranging from the development and presentation of the President’s FY2008 budget to the passage of the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).  In Congress, Lehman served as the senior leadership aide to then Congressman Rob Portman, where he developed and coordinated extensive legislative and communications operations.  Lehman has spent more than 21 years on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch.

“Rob Lehman will be an effective advocate for Ohio and a key player in helping promote policies to get spending under control and improve the economy, and I am really glad he has agreed to lead our team,” said Senator-elect Rob Portman.  “Rob is a trusted adviser and strategist, and his experience with me as Chief of Staff in the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Trade Representative’s office and the Office of Management and Budget will be invaluable as we hit the ground running in January.”

Teri Geiger was Chief of Staff in the Ohio Senate for three Senate presidents, Senator Richard H. Finan, Senator Doug White and Senator Bill Harris, from 1996 to 2005.

During the past five years, she has served as Ohio University’s Director of Government Relations, serving as a liaison between the university and the State of Ohio Governor’s Office, Ohio General Assembly and the United States Congress, in addition to local, state and federal agencies.  As a key consultant to President Roderick J. McDavis, Geiger served in an advisory capacity on President’s Council with top university leaders.

“Teri is widely respected in Columbus and across the state of Ohio as a real professional who knows how to work with people to get things done.  She will manage our Ohio team, focused on serving constituents in their dealings with the federal government, and helping to spur economic growth and opportunity,” said Portman.

Jeff Sadosky, who is currently Director of Senator-elect Portman’s transition to the U.S. Senate, most recently served as Communications Director for Senator-elect Portman’s campaign.  Sadosky has served in senior communications roles for U.S. Senators Mike DeWine (R-OH) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), for John McCain’s campaign for President, and other state and federal campaigns and political organizations.  As Communications Director for the Portman for Senate campaign, Sadosky oversaw the press, policy, research and advertising teams, coordinating outside advisers and campaign leadership to ensure Senator-elect Portman’s focus on Ohio’s economy and fiscally responsible leadership was effectively communicated to Ohio voters.

“Jeff is a well respected spokesperson and communications strategist who played a critical role in our campaign, and I am pleased that he will serve as Communications Director in the Senate office as the real work now begins,” stated Portman.
