President Signs Into Law Portman’s 21st Century IDEA Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) thanked President Trump for signing legislation he authored – the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience (IDEA) Act – to improve citizens’ interaction with the federal government online, while reducing the cost of assistance from federal agencies. Portman attended a ceremony at the White House today where the president signed the measure.
“I was pleased to attend the White House signing ceremony today. This bill will modernize the way the federal government delivers services online, increase efficiency, and reduce costs for taxpayers,” said Senator Portman. “I will continue to work with my colleagues to make the federal government more efficient and effective on behalf of the American people.”
NOTE: The House companion bill was introduced by Reps. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) and Ro Khanna (D-CA). It passed the House with an unanimous vote in November. The Senate passed it on December 12.
