Portman Visits Rice Energy in Belmont County, Highlights Efforts to Expand Ohio Energy Production
BELMONT COUNTY, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) visited Rice Energy to tour their drilling operation in Belmont County. Portman met with workers on site and saw the new technologies now in use to help expand energy production in Ohio.
“I appreciated the opportunity to visit the site, see the new jobs that are being created in Belmont County, and learn more about how we are expanding responsible energy production here in our state. Ohio is known for our highly skilled workforce, and these Ohioans using cutting edge technology are a perfect example,” Portman said. “Better technology has the potential to lower costs, make us more energy independent, and ultimately create more jobs with better wages here in Ohio.”
