Portman Applauds More than $1.5 Million in Federal Grants to Higher Education Institutions Across Ohio for COVID-19 Research
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) applauded the National Science Foundation (NSF) for awarding more than $1.5 million in CARES Act-funded Rapid Response Research (RAPID) grants to higher education institutions throughout Ohio. These RAPID grants will fund research that addresses the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The institutions awarded grants are listed below.
“I’m pleased to see that NSF awarded more than $1.5 million worth of grants to higher education institutions here in Ohio. These institutions are conducting research as it relates to COVID-19, and this funding will help them continue these life-saving efforts,” said Portman. “This research will be fundamental in helping our county to respond effectively to this unprecedented crisis while preparing and helping to prevent any future pandemics.”
