With Focus on Jobs, Portman Visits Cincinnati Crane & Hoist, Presents Export Award
CINCINNATI, OH – Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), visited Cincinnati Crane & Hoist and presented the company with the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Achievement Award. Based in Harrison, Cincinnati Crane & Hoist is a veteran-owned business that has seen domestic growth of more than 400 percent in the last three years. Portman discussed his ENFORCE Act and the Leveling the Playing Field Act, legislation that is already paying dividends for Ohio’s manufacturers and steel workers.
“Cincinnati Crane and Hoist is an American success story. It started out as a small business, and now it’s global. After meeting Tony and his employees here today, it’s easy to see why.” Portman said. “This veteran-owned business embodies the kind of Ohio work ethic that makes our state one of the best places in the world for manufacturing. And it shows why it’s so important to fight against unfair imports and ensure that our Ohio workers are operating on a level playing field. I’m proud to have passed legislation—like the Leveling the Playing Field Act and the ENFORCE Act—that is already making a difference for workers like the ones I met today. I will continue to do my part at the federal level to make sure that Washington helps, not hurts, the growth of these business.”
Senator Portman, who has been awarded the “Congressional Steel Champion Award” for his work to protect the steel industry and Ohio steelworkers, has a long record of working to protect Ohio steelworkers from foreign cheating and delivering results to keep good jobs in Ohio. Portman has toured the state of Ohio to meet with manufacturers and workers and has fought consistently on their behalf, whether it’s passing a bipartisan energy efficiency bill, working to strengthen the competitiveness of American manufacturers, or helping Ohio manufacturers win trade enforcement cases to support our workers and ensure that foreign competitors are playing by the rules.
