Portman Laments U.S. Manufacturing Shrinking for the Third Month in a Row
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) today released the following statement on U.S. manufacturing shrinking for the third month in a row:
“Yesterday we braced ourselves as Washington’s debt topped $16 trillion for the first time in history, and today we learned that U.S. manufacturing shrank for the third month in a row, the longest decline since the recession ended in 2009; I am not sure how much more bad news hard-working, middle class families in Ohio and across the country can take. Families are struggling during this time of anemic economic growth, and it is clear that the President’s penchant to throw money at our problems is doing little to get our economy up and running again and put Americans back to work. The current agenda has failed to spur job creation, and it’s time to implement pro-growth policies that will put America back on the path to prosperity.”
