Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) today released the following statement on U.S. manufacturing shrinking for the second month in a row:

“Today, President Obama traveled to Ohio in an attempt to once again convince voters that his economic plans have worked, but in the meantime the economy continues to struggle, with another bad report today, this one showing U.S. manufacturing shrinking for the second month in a row.  This is the latest in a string of evidence that shows the Administration’s current policies are not working.  The President can claim to be the champion of the middle class, but it is getting harder and harder for Ohio working families to make ends meet under his policies.  Ohioans want pro-growth policies to jumpstart the economy and spur job creation, and no matter how much the President talks about it, empty words of a better tomorrow will not bring back the jobs that have been lost under his watch.”
